Vitoria-Gasteiz, one of the most attractive cities for motorhome tourism, has decided to implement new rules for parking these vehicles. Starting in the summer of 2025, a new regulation will take effect, limiting the length of stay and introducing a daily fee for motorhome travelers.

In recent days, the presence of motorhomes along the coast of the Region of Murcia has sparked controversy. The Guardia Civil evicted several motorhomes from the Cala barracks esplanade in Lorca, while Playa de la Carolina in Águilas was cleared following new restrictions.

The Burriana City Council, located in the south of Castellon, has received authorization from the Generalitat Valenciana to construct a motorhome parking area right on the beachfront. This project began its planning phase in December with the aim of creating a space that can accommodate up to 26 motorhomes, thus increasing tourist overnight stays in the city and boosting the local economy by attracting both national and international tourists.

In a recent session, the Government Council of the Community of Madrid has decided to move towards the modernization of the regulatory framework for outdoor tourist spaces, including campsites and areas designated for the stay of motorhomes, camper vehicles, and similar. This step is materialized with the launch of a public consultation through the Transparency Portal, referring to a Decree project that seeks to redefine the organization of these spaces in the region.

The province of Burgos has positioned itself as a key destination for itinerant tourism enthusiasts, providing spaces and services suitable for those traveling in motorhomes, caravans, and campers. With a total of 20 areas designed for motorhomes, in addition to three basic parking zones without additional services and 14 campgrounds, the region offers a well-developed infrastructure for this type of tourism.

Last November, the council of Águilas submitted a request to install height barriers in various natural areas, including the beaches of La Carolina, La Higuerica, and El Arroz. This request, directed to the State's Coastal Demarcation and the Regional Ministry of Environment of Murcia, seeks authorization to install barriers with a height of 2.10 meters. These barriers would allow access and parking for cars but would restrict the entry of taller vehicles.

Recently, it has become commonly said that a locality without a camper area is, as it were, nobody. This trend was seen before in Spain with frontons, then with swimming pools, later with paddle tennis courts, and now the focus is on these types of tourist service facilities. Simple, not too costly for the municipalities, but capable of attracting wandering tourists who travel with their homes for a few days.

The Tírig City Council in Castellón has set up a section within the soccer field, called the 'camper zone,' with the aim of establishing a specific recycling point for motorhomes. This location provides users with the ability to manage their wastewater in a regulated manner and obtain drinking water.
